Biography

Jonathan originally hails from the cornfields of Illinois and holds a B.F.A. in Acting from the Professional Actors Studio at the University of Illinois. During the summer of 1993, he studied under Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley at the prestigious British American Drama Academy (BADA) in Oxford, England. Jonathan received glowing reviews for his creation of the role of Roy Glenn in the critically acclaimed, world premiere of Zsa Zsa Gershick’s “Bluebonnet Court” at the Hudson Mainstage Theatre in late 2006. To date, Jonathan has appeared on “The Office”, HBO’s “LUCK”, “Friends With Benefits”, “NCIS”, AMC’s “MAD MEN” and HBO’s “Carnivale”.

In 2010 Jonathan wrote and starred in the highly acclaimed SOLO: The Series – a sci-fi comedy about a guy who is sent to Mars as part of a reality show, only to have it canceled 36 days into the launch, stranding him in space. SOLO: The Series was the official selection of the 2010 ITVFest, NYTVFest and the Flagstaff International Film Festival.  SOLO was also nominated for 5 Indie Intertube Awards in 2010 including Best Comedy, Best Actor in a Comedy (Jonathan Nail) and Audience Choice as well as a nomination in the Indie Soap Awards of 2010.

Jonathan has also appeared in several other independently produced shorts and series, including: GOLD: Night of the Zombie King, Sobriety Never Pays and The Photos of Your Junk Will Be Publicized. He is currently writing a new show that will premiere in early 2012.
