Booked & Filmed “Criminal Minds” – AGAIN!

I am in love with the casting department for “Criminal Minds”. And I’ll tell you why…

I filmed an episode of CM about two months ago, a scene with Paget Brewster. Nearly a week before my episode was to appear, I was informed by my agent that my scene was cut from the episode. This happens frequently in this town. Some shows “over film” an episode and then they make cuts. It happens. I still get paid and I still get the credit.

However, the casting department called me in the very next week! Said they loved my work and wanted to get me back on the show. Awesome! I audition for another co-star role, but I didn’t book it. Then another two weeks goes by and I get a call from my agent: I booked “Criminal Minds”. Before I could become too confused, my agent told me that casting just called and offered me a one day, co-star role. There was no need to see me audition again. Woo hoo!

It was wonderful being back on set, meeting the other actors on the show and getting another opportunity to do what I love. Working with Joe Mantegna and Matthew Gray Gubler was a real treat. Getting a hug from Paget Brewster, when she saw me at the table read, was icing. Great crew. Great show.

So you can catch me on “Criminal Minds” on episode #101, December 9th on CBS as the coroner. I get to touch dead people.

Entering Pre-production for “SOLO”

After several long months of construction, and extremely hot working conditions, the set for SOLO is nearing completion. As I finish up on the small set details, I’m meeting with producers and directors and officially beginning pre-production! There are so many items on the to-do list, I won’t bore you with them. And yes, construction has taken longer than I previously expected, but I also remembered to make time for my family and friends — without them I wouldn’t have the support I need to create this show.

Big shout out to Josh Tate, Jason Burns and Jamie Fishback for lending their sweat and hard work to building the set.

SIDE EFFECT screening at Cinema Lounge (FIND)

You may be able to catch a screening of a lovely little horror film I appear in if you happen to be a member of FIND (Film Independent). SIDE EFFECT, a short film by Liz Adams, is set to screen at Film Independent’s Cinema Lounge at Whiskey Blue Bar in Westwood on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 20, 2009) Cinema Lounge is a monthly showcase of short films held at the W Hotel in Los Angeles. Always a full-house event, Cinema Lounge is open to Film Independent members and their guests.
